PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Florida Power and Light Co. conducted its annual storm drill on Thursday in preparation for hurricane season.

"That's when we bring together our employees and practice our storm roles," says Irene White, the Director of Operations and Support for FPL. "And this will help us if and when we should get hit by a hurricane impacts our service area. We want to be able to get the lights back on as quickly as possible to take care of our customers and we really think practice makes perfect and this is a way for us to get better."

During the storm drill, FPL demonstrated how their crews restore power in the field.

Crews also showed off their mobile command center that just returned from service in storm-ravaged Alabama.
