Five men were rescued early Sunday morning from a sinking boat off of the Lake Worth Inlet.

The Coast Guard received a call around 9:20 a.m. about a 23-foot vessel taking on water with five men on board.

The men were fishing several miles offshore when they tried to re-start their boat. They say the engine was flooded and the battery was wet.

Thien Nguyen, one of the boaters, said another boat began to help tow the stricken vessel in before the Coast Guard arrived.

"Once the water started getting more and more, I thought we were gonna' sink.  Luckily we didn't at all and everything is OK now," said Thien Nguyen.

The men were wearing life jackets and were not injured

The boat was towed to the Phil Foster Park Marina.
