PALM SPRINGS, Fla. -- A man in his 50s is dead after being struck by an SUV this morning while riding a bicycle in Palm Springs, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The man was struck after he lost control of his bicycle and hit a curb on S. Congress Avenue and 2nd Avenue North around 7:36 a.m. , causing him to fall into an SUV following behind him, according to FHP.
The man was transported by Trauma Hawk to Delray Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
FHP is investigating the crash and no charges have been filed against the driver of the SUV.
