PALM SPRINGS, FL -- Police are questioning a man who led officers on an early morning pursuit.

At about 3:00 a.m., a Palm Springs Police patrol unit was attempting to stop a vehicle that ran a red light, when the vehicle sped away, knocking down a sign near the Winn Dixie Plaza near Congress and Forest Hill Blvd.

The impact heavily damaged the front of the vehicle. Officers pursued the suspect along several streets, ending in the Post Office parking lot at Congress and Summit, where the driver jumped out and ran into the facility.

Investigators were able to locate the man. The vehicle he was driving was reported stolen.

Police are trying to determine if the suspect knew the owner of the vehicle.

Nobody was injured in the incident.
