The Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department has issued a boil-water notice for the Westgate-Belvedere Homes area in suburban West Palm Beach.

Approximately 800 homes and two businesses (Tiny Tikes Academy and Building Dreams Preschool) have been impacted. The affected boundaries are north to the L2 canal, south to Belvedere Road, east to Congress Avenue and west to Quail Drive.

Utilities crews responded at 10 a.m. today to a call for a broken water main. The repairs were completed and water was restored by 2 p.m.

The boil-water notice is in effect until further notice, a news release from the utilities department said. Residents are advised to boil water at a rolling boil for one minute to kill infectious organisms.
