Conservative website Drudge Report is reporting that Condoleezza Rice is a new frontrunner to be Mitt Romney’s running mate.

Conservative website Drudge Report is reporting that Condoleezza Rice is a new frontrunner to be Mitt Romney’s running mate.

According to Drudge , the Romney campaign has not commented on the report.

ABC News reports that the site's founder, Matt Drudge, has long appeared supportive of the Romney campaign and has ties with Romney staffers.

Rice was not able to confirm or deny reports because she is on vacation this weekend, according to ABC News .

Rice was Secretary of State under President George W. Bush and is now a professor at Stanford University.

According to Drudge, the timing of Romney's VP announcement is "now set for the 'coming weeks.'"
