PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Several kittens are alive thanks to some quick-thinking firefighters.

The communications director for the Professional Firefighters/Paramedics of Palm Beach County, Local 2928, IAFF, said the animals were discovered stuck under stairs during a live burn at the firefighters' training facility on Pike Road.

She said the firefighters used newly donated animal masks to give the four kittens oxygen.

The firefighters plan to adopt the kittens.
