John Goodman’s lead attorney is Roy Black, a senior partner of the Miami-based firm Black, Srebnick, Kornspan and Stumpf, P.A.

As a defense attorney with more than 40 years of experience, Black has won several high-profile cases including successfully defending William Kennedy Smith against rape charges in Palm Beach County.

Some other noteworthy clients of Black include Rush Limbaugh and Kelsey Grammer.

In 2006, Limbaugh was charged with a felony for doctor shopping. Black persuaded prosecutors to drop the charges if Limbaugh went through substance abuse treatment.

Black is a two-time graduate of the University of Miami, earning a Bachelors of Art in 1967 and his law degree in 1970. He is also a professor at the university’s law school.

Along with working in the courtroom, Black worked with NBC’s “The Today Show,” serving as a legal analyst. and has also appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” as a commentator and legal analyst.
