WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Word of Osama Bin Laden's killing traveled overseas and to our neighborhoods very quickly Sunday night. Many locals learned of the news together - in public. They said that it was somewhat similar, in their eyes, to the way they experienced 9/11 almost a decade ago. TV screens all over South Florida were tuning-in to the same historic news.

At CityPlace, the normal nightlife was silenced. Bin Laden had been killed and President Barack Obama was telling the world. "Just waiting, waiting for everything in the last ten years to seem worth it," said Donna Manceri.
"They finally feel like they got a bit of justice now that Osama is dead and hopefully it will give them some peace," said CityPlace visitor Domenic Servidio. Many people saw the news of Bin Laden's killing as a final chapter in a story that began on the morning of September 11, 2001. "End the war. He's the one that got us into this mess. We got him so get out of there," said Michael Mayer.
