WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The new police chief for West Palm Beach was sworn in at an official ceremony Friday.
Vince Demasi says he is focusing on making West Palm Beach the premiere city in the country. He wants it to be a clean, safe and fun city where people want to invest.
Demasi says the staff has been enthusiastic with its welcome, and willing to help him navigate the confusing hallways in the station.
"I've had so many people rescue me from the hallways. So I'm deeply appreciative of that, but it's a great place, it's a great community and people really care. And it's the kind of place I'm really thrilled to be involved with," he said.
The chief says a key priority will be to work with children and families. He plans to be involved with community events through the weekend.
