LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Los Angeles firefighters have put out a New Year's Eve car fire in Hollywood that closely resembles a series of arson blazes that have plagued the area the two previous nights.
Fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey says the fire that broke out in a Fountain Avenue carport Saturday night "fits the profile of concern" for police and firefighters.
Humphrey says a crew of 10 put out the fire in about six minutes. The flames did not spread beyond the car and no one was injured.
He could immediately say how the fire started.
Authorities are searching for one or more suspects in the nearly two dozen arson fires set off in Hollywood early Friday and 13 more set mostly in North Hollywood early Saturday.
