The University of Phoenix has confirmed it is closing dozens of campuses as part of a "phasing out" of physical facilities.

Nationwide, the school is reportedly closing 115 of its campus locations, affecting some 13,000 students who take courses in person.

Those students may choose to continue their courses online, which is what 70 percent of the students do nationally, according to Ryan Rauzon, the associate vice president of public communications with the University of Phoenix.

"I don't like it," said Anna Reyes, a student getting her masters degree in business administration. "I think it's wrong."

Reyes, speaking from the Roseville, California campus, is an online student, but uses the Roseville facility to print out assignments for her classwork.

"It's just a huge inconvenience for students, especially with gas prices as high as they are," Reyes said.
