An unusual tube-shaped cloud spotted over Virginia this week is going viral on social media.
The cloud is known as a roll cloud, according to WPTV Meteorologist Tyler Mauldin. According to the Washington Post , it stretched across the skies of northern Virginia on Monday morning.
"Roll clouds are just unique looking clouds that usually form in the morning and do not produce rain," according to Storm Team 5 Meteorologist, Tyler Mauldin.
