Philadelphia, PA -- Authorities in Philadelphia have arrested a man suspected of throwing a woman on subway tracks Tuesday.

We must warn you, the video in the player on the left is tough to watch.

You can see the man walk up to the 23-year-old woman sitting on a bench.

He reportedly asks her for a lighter, walks away, then moves in and attacks her.

He then pulls her off the bench by her feet, drags her and throws her on the tracks.

The woman managed to pull herself to safety and suffered only minor injuries.

Police say they decided to hold off on telling the public what the suspect was wearing and managed to find him within 48 hours.

"I really wanted to catch this guy and I truly felt that the best way to do that was to hold onto information about his jacket and put as many officers as I could to catch him and it worked," said Chief Thomas Nestell of SEPTA Police. "It worked."

Police say they aren't sure of the motive, but believe the man may have mental health problems.
