POCOMOKE CITY, MD - Fire killed thousands of chicks at a Maryland poultry plant.
The Daily Times reports It happened Wednesday at a Perdue Farms research facility in Pocomoke City.
Fire officials told the Daily Times two buildings burned, with the smoke and flames killing about six-thousand chicks.
No employees were on the site at the time.
The fire's cause is under investigation.
