One ticket sold in Connecticut matched all six numbers in Wednesday's $254.2 million Powerball lottery drawing.
The winning combination was 12, 14, 34, 39, 46 with 36 as the Powerball. The Power Play multiplier was four.
The winning ticketholder can choose between taking the $254.2 million jackpot in 30 annual installments or a lump sum cash payout of approximately $151 million.
The last time Powerball topped $250 million was in June 2010 when a winning ticket worth $261.6 million was sold in Ohio.
Of the 255,866 winning sets of numbers in Florida, eleven people came very close to winning the big jackpot.
Four tickets had the five regular numbers picked correctly and are worth $200,000.
Six other tickets are worth $10,000 after matching the Powerball number and four other numbers. One person who played Power Play matched the Powerball number and four other numbers and will win $40,000.
Wednesday's jackpot was not close to being the largest in Powerball history. On February 18, 2006, eight people who worked in a Conagra meatpacking plant in Nebraska shared a jackpot worth $365 million.
The odds of winning Powerball's grand prize jackpot are 1 in 195,249,054.00.
