YUKON, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities say more than 100 people were injured during a burst of severe storms and tornadoes on Friday night.
The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported Saturday that Oklahoma City-area hospitals treated 104 people. More than half of those were people who had been cut or pierced.
Nine people died during the storm, which struck the Oklahoma City area during rush hour, trapping many people in their cars along Interstate 40.
The National Weather Service reported Friday evening that "several" tornadoes rolled across the prairie. The official number of tornadoes has not yet been determined.
EL RENO, Okla. (AP) -- A series of violent tornadoes slashing through central Oklahoma Friday have claimed its at least nine victims.

The victims include two children and seven adults. Five of the victims have yet to be identified. Their names and where they died have not yet been released as they await notify family.
Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed to NBC affiliate KFOR in Oklahoma City that a mother and child were killed near a vehicle in the El Reno area Friday night.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado emergency for the city's downtown, airport and several suburbs as the storm rolled through central Oklahoma.
Trooper Betsy Randolph said numerous vehicles were damaged in the storm and that many motorists are stranded. The Weather Channel's Mike Bettes was in El Reno tracking a tornado when he and the other two weather vehicles accompanying him found themselves in its path.
Bettes, who walked away with only scratches, told The Weather Channel his vehicle flipped six to eight times before setting back down "hard."
Television cameras carrying the storm on statewide television showed debris in the air.
A storm last week killed 24 at Moore, on Oklahoma City's south side. Tornadic activity in the Moore and Norman area has also been reported.
