Hundreds of moms will march on Capitol Hill Wednesday to demand stricter gun laws and they want other moms to join them.
They're part of a grassroots organization focused on passing common-sense gun laws.
These moms want to cut down on gun violence that kills 8 children in the U.S. every day.
More than 200 moms from across the country including here in Maryland are expected to join the march to get their message across to lawmakers.
The group is called "Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America" and much like Mothers Against Drunk Driving, it's a grassroots movement focused on tightening gun laws.
The group will spend the day meeting with their representatives asking for solutions to gun violence.
They're asking for three things. The first is to ban assault weapons and ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.
Second, require background checks for all gun and ammunition purchases.
And third, report the sale of large quantities of ammunition to the ATF and ban online ammunition sales.
The group is inviting all moms to join them in the march.
But if you can't make it, they have another way you can help through social media. Their website is www.momsdemandaction.org .
