(WTMJ) A young boy donated his money to the Greenfield, Wisconsin Police Department Friday, but left before anyone could thank him.
According to the police department, the boy, who is said to be around 8-10 years old, walked into the Greenfield Police Department on Friday. He left a bag of change at the counter, and told the clerk he wanted to donate his money to "the police."
He then turned and walked away without giving his name.
"This very sweet gesture is especially touching coming two days after the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks," Assistant Chief Schlect said.
According to the police department, the donation totaled $10.03 and will be turned over the the Greenfield Police Foundation.
One person will win a three-year lease on a 2013 Honda Civic Lx Sedan automatic.
