Judge Jessica Recksiedler steps down from George Zimmerman, Trayvon Martin case

(CNN) -- Florida Circuit Court Judge Jessica Recksiedler has approved an order disqualifying herself from presiding over any further proceedings in the case against George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who admitted shooting and killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in February.

Zimmerman's lawyers had asked that the judge be removed from the case because her husband is a law associate of CNN contributor Mark NeJame.
