Jennifer Romero pot bust: Husband tips police to wife smoking marijuana with daughter, cops say

A South Carolina mother is facing charges after allegedly buying drugs for her daughter and using them with her.

When the father found out about it, he called police.

Jennifer Romero is accused of buying marijuana and smoking it with her daughter.

In fact, deputies say it was at tennis courts behind her house where Romero bought marijuana for her child.

According to deputies, after buying a small amount of pot on Thursday, mother and daughter went to McDowell Park in Charlotte, South Carolina to smoke it.

Romero's husband came back from out of town and found out about it.

Sheriff's spokesman Trent Farris says parents often try this kind of approach, but usually with cigarettes or alcohol.

Either way, it's still illegal and Romero is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A reporter from WSOC-TV went by the house in the Mill Creek Falls neighborhood, but Romero's husband did not want to talk about what happened.

The suspect Jennifer Romero was released from jail Monday night.
