Many of us in South Florida have friends and loved ones in the Northeast who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. Others just want to help.
NewsChannel 5, WFLX Fox 29 and the Palm Beach County-Treasure Coast chapter of the Red Cross are teaming up to help raise money for those who are in desperate need.
Today, we are holding a Super Storm Sandy phone bank on WPTV and WFLX during the news. Red Cross volunteers will be staffing the phones in our studio to take your donation calls.
The phone bank will be open from 6-9 a.m., 12-1 p.m. and 4-6:30 p.m. Call 1-800-345-WPTV to speak to a representative.
The American Red Cross is helping people across 13 states with safe shelter, food and comfort as part of a huge disaster response to Sandy.
You can donate now by clicking the button below, texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation, calling 1-800-RED CROSS or calling the number listed on your TV screen on Thursday. Mobile users can cut and paste this bitly link: http://rdcrss.org/TUzOjM
