HOUSTON, TX - Authorities have identified the 25-year-old fan who died after falling from a fifth-floor escalator while attending a preseason Houston Texans' game at Reliant Stadium.

The Harris County medical examiner's office identified the man late Friday as Jonathon Kelly of Houston. No other details were immediately provided.

Police say the fall appears to have been an accident.

Frantic witnesses called police after seeing the man fall about 60 feet from a fifth-floor escalator during Thursday night's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Stadium officials say staffers monitor fan safety at each escalator. Escalators near where the fall occurred were closed for inspections, but officials expressed confidence in their safety.
