About 3,000 pounds of marijuana and cocaine were found in two vessels last month, the Coast Guard said Tuesday.

On Oct. 26, the Coast Guard Cutter Gallatin spotted a 30-foot go-fast vessel in the Caribbean Sea. The cutter's crew intercepted the vessel and found 2,300 pounds of marijuana onboard, Coast Guard officials said.

On Oct. 14, Coast Guard crew members aboard the USS Carr inspected a Bolivian-flagged freighter northeast of Panama. They discovered 886 pounds of cocaine, officials said.

The drugs from both incidents were transferred to the cutter Confidence, which offloaded the illicit cargo at the Coast Guard's Key West sector on Tuesday.
