Chappy Adams, president of Illustrated Properties in Palm Beach Gardens, died early Thursday in a traffic accident, the firm announced.

Mr. Adams’ father F.F. "Bud" Adams Sr., founded Illustrated Properties in 1975, according to its website. Chappy Adams, 48, joined the firm in the 1980s.

“Words cannot possibly describe our grief and we appreciate immensely the love, loyalty and caring shown by everyone on this fateful day,” Cheryl Linck, a vice president of Illustrated, said in a statement.

“Chappy was very excited about 2013 and the future of the company. He looked forward to introducing many new programs for our agents over the coming months that he was instrumental in bringing on board.

“The management team has been together for many years and are committed to carry out Chappy’s legacy.”

Funeral arrangements are pending.
