(CNN) -- Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez pleaded not guilty Friday in the death of Odin Lloyd.
It was his sixth time appearing in a courtroom since his June 26 arrest.
He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Lloyd, a 27-year-old semipro football player. He also faces various weapons charges. He will be held without bail until his next court appearance on October 9.
Hernandez, 23, was let go by the Patriots after his arrest.
