A woman sent a text message as her boyfriend was sexually assaulting her, leading to Sherburne County, Minn., sheriff's deputies arresting the man at the scene, authorities said Monday.

The 51-year-old man, from Princeton, Minn., is jailed on suspicion of fifth-degree domestic assault and third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to Sheriff Joel Brott:

About 9:30 p.m. CDT Saturday, someone called the Sheriff's Office to say a friend had sent a text message stating that her boyfriend was sexually assaulting her and to call police.

Deputies went to the man's home and made contact with the victim, who said she had been assaulted, and that the man was in a back bedroom and there were firearms in the home.

Deputies removed the woman from the home and set up a perimeter. Attempts to contact the man were initially unsuccessful.

A search warrant was obtained, and the sheriff's Emergency Response Unit entered the home and arrested the man without further incident.

Charges against the man are pending.
