ALBANY, Ga. - (WALB) A huge alligator caught by four men in a tributary of Lake Seminole on Wednesday is likely the biggest one ever caught in Georgia.
The reptile weighs 620 pounds, and measured 13 feet, 10 and three-quarters inches long.
Jim Overman, who has a Georgia alligator hunting license, killed the reptile with a bow. He was assisted by Gary Braswell, Alex Harrell and Dr. Daniel White.
The gator was spotted while Harrell and Dr. White were scouting the area near Sealy's Landing for ducks.
They alerted Overman, who came with his archery gear, and shot the alligator. The men then searched for the gator over three hours before finally locating it.
