PALM BEACH, Fla. - A twin-engine plane was forced to land on the beach south of the Palm Beach Inlet Saturday afternoon..

The small plane did a controlled landing on the beach around 3 p.m. after experiencing engine trouble, said James Weber, spokesperson for the Palm Beach Fire Department.

Weber said the sole occupant of the plane was not injured and there was no fuel spill.

The plane will have to be taken apart in order to be hauled away, Weber said.

According to FAA registry information reported in the Palm Beach Post, the Piper fixed-wing multi-engine aircraft was built in 1974 and is registered to Secure Aviation, 10218 SE Banyan Way in Tequesta. The company's president is Gregory Behl of Tequesta and its vice president is Patrick Rubsamen of Delray Beach, state records show.
