Man surrenders after PBSO SWAT standoff at suburban Lake Worth home

Deputies were attempting to serve a search warrant

SUBURBAN LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- A man surrendered to deputies after a standoff at a suburban Lake Worth home Thursday afternoon, officials at the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office report.

Shots were fired inside the home on Melaleuca Lane and Gulfstream Road when deputies attempted to serve a search warrant at about 12:22 p.m., PBSO said.

The man has been taken into custody and no one was hurt, officials report. The man had several arrest warrants.

Westbound lanes of Melaleuca Lane were shutdown near Davis Road during the incident.

U.S. Marshals and PBSO SWAT were also on the scene.
