ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Fire rescue crews and deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office are investigating a fire this morning in a shopping plaza in Royal Palm Beach.
Smoke was seen billowing from Joseph's Classic Market on 10479 Southern Boulevard around 4:10 a.m.
At least seven or eight fire trucks arrived at the scene after a call came into the sheriff's office. Heavy smoke was in the building on arrival.
Fire crews gained access through the front and the rear of the building.
They discovered there was significant fire damage to a produce cooler in the customer area.
Fire rescue officials say it is fortunate that the call came as soon as it did because they were able to extinguish the fire rapidly.
There was no one in the store at the time, officials say.
A fire investigator said this is the second commercial plaza fire that was discovered along 441 in last few months by a sheriff's deputy. The other was at a car and tire repair place.
