STUART, Fla. -

A routine new mobile home installation on a plot of land in the Hidden Harbor Estates in Stuart turned tragic when the trailer collapsed.

Three workers were trapped underneath, and one of the victims was critically injured, according to a neighbor.

Ken Dietrick, who lives next door to the installed mobile home, witnessed the incident.

He said he was on his porch, watching the workers, when the double wide mobile home collapsed.

"I think it must have crushed his hips because that's where we couldn't move him," said Dietrick.

The mobile home park is off St. Lucie Boulevard.

Rescue crews rushed to the scene, but Fire Chief Daniel Wouters, with the Martin County Fire Department, said by the time they arrived, the victims had already been pulled out from under the home.

"Our units had arrived on scene to find that all three victims had been taken from underneath the trailer by coworkers," said Chief Wouters.

According to Chief Wouters, the three victims were working on the installation after 11:00 a.m. when they became trapped underneath the trailer.

Residents said workers brought the mobile home to the park Thursday afternoon, and they were continuing the site installation when it collapsed.

Fire officials have not released the victims’ names.

The victim with potentially crushed hips is in critical condition at Martin Memorial Hospital.

Another victim was classified as a "trauma alert," and flown to the Lawnwood Regional Trauma Center.

An OSHA officer was on the scene after the accident, and the Martin County Sheriff's Office is waiting to see if OSHA will take over the investigation.

An unidentified YouReporter provided a photo of the scene moments after the mobile home collapsed.
