PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Wacky golf pants: they aren't your "dad jeans", and, there is no shortage of women and men sporting the tacky threads at The Honda Classic.
Fans and pros, like Canadian golfer Graham DeLaet, can be seen sporting the bright colored trousers around PGA National this week. "I think my pants may have been emitting a little bit of light", DeLaet told the Winnipeg Sun coming off the course after the sun set on Friday at the classic.
Golfer John Daly is known as being the trend setter for these absurd pants. Daly's loud trousers are made by a company appropriately named, Loudmouth Golf.
The man who founded the California-based company, Loudmouth Golf, was tired of seeing bland khakis on the golf course, so he got to work.
Loudmouth Golf founder, Scott Woodworth's designs, are inspired by Johnny Miller's crazy red pants and Jack Nicklaus' plaid polyester Sans-A-Belts. "When guys started coming up to him in the middle of the golf course asking how they could get a pair, he realized there was a hidden desire on the golf course ... to play LOUD!", according to Loudmouth's website.
So, in the game of golf... your pants can be LOUD as long as you're quiet.
