A consumer research study says many of us get upset and lonely when we're denied access to the internet. The study even found that giving up the internet is like quitting smoking or giving up drinking.
Researchers asked students at 12 colleges around the world to give up all electronic devices including TV for 24 hours. Participants found that it was like going "cold turkey." They were anxious, isolated and even reached for mobile phones that were not there.
Critics say the study isn't complete enough to be credible.
