FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- "Come check out the oil on our beaches, you won't be dissapointed."

Already dealing with bad publicity from this month's pilot strike that left thousands of travelers stranded, the carrier has launched a new online ad campaign to try to drum up business.

On its website, it appears Spirit is referring to the oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill. The screen then switches to a picture of women in bikinis supposed to be on one of the carrier's beach resorts.

Even though Spirit is talking about sun tan oil, not crude, do you still find the ad tasteless? Please leave your comments below or on the WPTV Facebook page.

Other controversial Spirit promotions from the past months courtesy Huffingtonpost.com:

"We're Proud of our DDs!" -- by which they say they mean "Deep Discounts"

"Pole Dancing Can Be Cold!" -- something about not going to the North Pole, but instead to sunny beaches.
