GOLDEN, Colo. - Video posted on YouTube shows a skateboarder going about 40 miles per hour colliding with a deer on Lookout Mountain Road during the Buffalo Bill Downhill race over the weekend.
"Dude totally tackles a deer!!!," said the person who posted the video on Saturday with the title, "When raindeers attack!"
The video shows the deer running across the road, colliding with the skateboarder and the two of them rolling into the trees and dirt on the side of the road.
7NEWS said the skateboarder, who is from Salt Lake City, walked away with serious scrapes, but no broken bones. The deer was OK.
The Buffalo Bill Downhill is a race on Lookout Mountain Road for skateboarders.
Last year, a helicopter filming the competition crashed on Lookout Mountain. No one was hurt.
