A new video released and posted on YouTube shows SeaWorld trainer Ken Peters being dragged and held underwater by a killer whale during a 2006 performance presentation.
Peters, who suffered puncture wounds to both feet and a broken metatarsal ligament in his left foot, spent roughly eight minutes being dragged by the whale.
He eventually broke free and still works at SeaWorld San Diego.
The video was obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by author David Kirby, who recently released his book "Death at Sea World".
The video was part of evidence presented last year by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration in defense of the safety violations it issued against SeaWorld following the 2010 death of trainer Dawn Brancheau during a performance at SeaWorld Orlando.
NBC NewsChannel contributed to this report.
