UCLA students and faculty are lashing out a YouTube rant blasting the school's Asian population.
The video was posted by a student identified as Alexandra Wallace.
In the clip Wallace uses a fake Asian accent while criticizing Asian students for using their cell phones in the library.
More than 40-percent of the student population are Asian.
UCLA Chancellor Gene Block issued a statement Monday saying Wallace's statements "do not represent the views of our UCLA community".
Wallace has issued a statement through the UCLA Daily Bruin campus newspaper apologizing for the video that reads in part:
"Clearly the original video posted by me was inappropriate... I cannot explain what possessed me to approach the subject as I did and if I could undo it, I would," the statement said. "I'd like to offer my apology to the entire UCLA campus. For those who cannot find it within them to accept my apology, I understand."
