Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak said he used to host the game show drunk, according to an interview posted this week.

In the video Sajak is asked if he has ever done Wheel of Fortune drunk and he replies, “Yes. When I first started and was much younger and could tolerate those things. We had a different show then.”

Sajak explains how he would have a two-and-a-half hour dinner break as the prizes were brought in for the show, which included new cars and boats.

The host said there was a place called Los Arcos across the street in Burbank and they served great margaritas.

"Vanna and I would go across and have two or three or six and then come and do the last shows and have trouble recognizing the alphabet. They're really good tapes to get a hold of," Sajak said.

Sajak said the average number of margaritas he would have was “quatro.”

"I had a great time,” he explained. “I have no idea if the shows were any good, but no one said anything, so I guess I did okay."

The host said the drinking is a thing of the past. "I would be hesitant to have anything to drink now," he said.
