NYPD Officer Lawrence DePrimo gives boots to barefoot man: photo goes viral, warms hearts

A photo on the NYPD Facebook page has gone viral.

The photo, which has been shared over 82,000 times on Facebook, and has received over 21,000 comments, shows an officer, identified in the NY Times as Officer Lawrence DePrimo, squatted down on the ground giving boots to a barefoot man in Times Square. 

According to the Facebook post, a tourist captured the moment of human kindness on her cell phone camera, and the officer had no idea his picture was taken.
