(WHDH) A Woburn, Massachusetts family is happy they installed a security system after a motion alarm deterred a suspected thief from stealing anything when he broke in.
Jacqui Duffy said the family installed the system after their house had been broken into twice in the past five years.
Footage from a camera inside the family's house showed a man climbing through a ground level window with an air conditioner in it.
Duffy wants others with window air conditioners on ground floors to be aware that the units could be an open invitation to desperate criminals.
When he tripped a motion detector, it scared him off.
WHDH reports police were able to use the footage from the camera to identify the man and he was later arrested.
