Mitik, New York’s newest walrus pup, has gone viral after surviving Hurricane Sandy's path of destruction through the city.

Mitik made it through Sandy thanks to incredible care from the staff at Coney Island’s now-flooded aquarium, the New York Daily News reports.

According to the Daily News report, “Mit,” who weighs 236 pounds, arrived in New York from Alaska just a few weeks ago.
