(WOAI) Football season is in full swing but it's not a game just for the guys anymore.
Three girls play football in San Antonio, Texas' North East Independent School District and one of them plays the sport with her brother.
Jackson Middle School 7th grader Caitlin Betz plays defensive end and is on the kickoff return team.
"I get to tackle the boys," she says with a grin. "Most of the girls have come up to me and said, 'I wanted to play football but I was too scared' or 'I wanted to play but my mom wouldn't let me' or something like that. I think I've encouraged some of them."
It wasn't easy for her to become accepted among the guys.
