A Massachusetts woman is apologizing Wednesday after a photo of her making an obscene gesture at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery went viral.
The photo of Lindsey Stone has was featured on the Today Show Wednesday morning and many online are calling for Stone to lose her job despite her apology.
"It was just a spur of the moment, total lapse of judgment, Lindsey Stone's father, Peter Stone, told wcvb.com .
According to the wcvb.com report, Stone's father called the photo "disgraceful," but he wants everyone to know his daughter meant no disrespect.
"She wasn't reacting to the place; she was reacting to the sign and she apologizes to everybody," he told the news agency.
The photo was taken during a work trip in October and shows Stone giving the middle finger to a sign that sits next to the Tomb of the Unknowns.
