Lauri Ulvestad Today Show video: Woman car accelerator jams, sending her on wild I-35 Missouri ride

Lauri Ulvestad, 47, was driving her 2011 Kia Sorento on Interstate 35 in Missouri when suddenly she couldn't stop accelerating.

Police dash cam video shows her white-knuckle ride, as she swerved to miss cars in front of her.

"I'm scared to death," she told 911 operators as her car continued to speed up on the highway. "I've tried everything."

"I'm coming up on a bunch of cars…I'm so scared," she said.

State police arrived and attempted to divert traffic in her path.

For 59 miles and 35 minutes, the terrifying incident continued until Laurie pulled the accelerator and hit the break at the same time.
