JCPenney has stopped selling a T-shirt critics say sends the wrong message to young girls.
The long-sleeved shirt reads, “I’m too pretty to do homework so my brother has to do it for me.” The shirt, which was only in JCPenney’s online stores, is no longer available after it faced criticism Wednesday.
The shirt, originally priced at $16.99, was slashed to $9.99 before it was yanked offline.
JCPenney representatives say they’re upset about having sold the garment and they are sorry for the impression it made, which is not consistent with what they stand for.
