Half a million people signed a petition as of Tuesday afternoon, asking Macy’s to stop promoting Donald Trump in their stores and ads.

The “Dump Trump” petition on SignOn.org had the following statement: “Macy's: Donald Trump does not reflect the ‘magic of Macy's.’ We urge you to sever ties with him. Macy's says it has a strong obligation to be ‘socially responsible’ and that ‘actions speak louder than words.’ Indeed. It's time to act.”

Macy’s currently sells clothing and accessories from Donald Trump’s line, and he’s also in their commercials.

“Donald Trump engages in especially unpleasant, nasty and despicable behavior,” the petition said.

On Oct. 24, Trump posted a video announcement on his Facebook, encouraging President Barack Obama to show his college records and applications in exchange for a $5 million donation to a charity of his choice.

The anti-Trump petition had 509,000 signatures just before 3 p.m. Tuesday.
