Deaf woman Sarah Churman hears voice for first time, emotional video posted on YouTube

Sarah Churman, a 29-year-old woman who was born deaf, has just heard her voice for the first time.

Captured on a video (that was posted on Youtube by her husband), Churman is seen bursting with emotion after receiving an Esteem hearing implant and listening to the sound of her own voice.

Churman wrote on her Youtube Channel: "I was born deaf and have worn hearing aids from the age of two, but hearing aids only help so much. I have gotten by this long in life by reading lips. This was taken as they were activating the implant."

The video already has more than 4 million views.

The implant was put in her ear and uses ear drum vibrations to work. Churman said she was able to hear some things before the operation, but never her own voice so clearly. See the incredibly life-changing moment by watching the video below:
