A local church group is showing support for Chick-fil-A following comments about gay marriage from the company's president, Dan Cathy.
To show their support for the fast food chain, Chick-fil-A, groups across the country are taking part in "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day."
The event stems from a public outcry against the chain, after Cathy said he is "very much supportive of the... biblical definition of the family unit."
Gay and lesbian rights groups were outraged at the comment, seeking a boycott of the fast food chain.
On Wednesday, those supporting Cathy and his stance on gay marriage hosted events across the country to meet in large groups and eat at Chick-fil-A restaurants.
Members from the Church of All Nations plan to take part in the event. The group will meet at the Town Center at Boca Raton before going inside to mall to eat at its Chick-fil-A location.
As a rebuttal to Wednesday's nationwide event, gay and lesbian groups are hosting a "Same Sex Kiss Day" on Friday, Aug. 3.
