(KRIS) A new atheist billboard along I-37 in Corpus Christi, Texas has some people upset.

The billboard was put yesterday by an atheist organization called The South Texas Coalition of Reason and reads, "Don't Believe in God? You're not Alone".

It was a mixed bag of emotions today as people react to the billboard.

Juan Perales works right underneath the sign and we were there as he saw it for the first time.

"I don't think a sign like that should be up," he says.

"I believe all people should believe in a higher supreme lord. Somebody that created us, and that's God," he added.

But his co-worker says it's just another sign.

"I don't even pay attention to it... It doesn't matter," says Bill Parkinson.

Christian Ferris represents The South Texas Coalition of Reason, which is made up of several local atheist groups, and says the sign is not intended to offend people of strong faith.

"It's not even a message that's directed towards them. It's not a challenge of their beliefs," he says.
